Étoiles de Cap-Vert

This model is preordered due to the complexity of the weaving process. You will be delivered two months after your order.

As an endangered historical patrimony, Maï created his art studio in Saint-Louis, Senegal, in order to safeguard this ancestral know-how and to support these weavers who cannot live with dignity of their art.

The particularity of the Manjak fabric lies in the weaving technique. Two to three craftsmen per loom are needed to make this traditional fabric. A know-how that requires precision and patience.

The elegance and beauty of the motifs of this model originate from Cape Verde. The stars represent the ten islands that make up the archipelago. We associate this model with the Ugandan lubbugo, a tree bark inscribed in UNESCO’s intangible heritage.

This model has been designed to enhance the weaving of the Manjk textile patterns, it provides flexibility and comfort to walking.
