Shoes, a story, know-how…

visuel-sneakers-a-propos

Umòja shoes, in addition to promoting traditional textile practises, have different stories… Each fabric used to make our sneakers illustrates a very specific history through its patterns, shapes and colours. These paintings are an invitation to discover the traditional myths of these African regions. The quality of fabric weaving, the beauty of the patterns and the elegance of the design allow each pair to adapt to all styles. Don’t wait any longer to join the Umoja universe!

You can discover the unique stories of each of our models through the descriptive pages of our speakers.
For this first collection, we drew inspiration from Western African traditional society. The name chosen for each pair is taken from the history of this beautiful region of Africa.

Our speakers in addition to being ethnic and ecological are unique and artistic. Between mixing materials, craftsmanship and creativity, all creations are a man of cultural change.

Umòja Sneakers Modernes et Artisanales

Combine tradition, modernity and innovation

In addition to valuing craft know-howUmòja puts innovation at the heart of its actions to engage in a reflection on the environmental impacts of the fashion industry. The brand excludes the use of animal leather and chemical dyeing by favouring natural materials such as : organic cotton, tree bark textile, cork, dyeing and mineral and vegetable paint

All these materials are produced locally by small communities of producers. We chose to go directly to meet these producers on an initiatory trip to Africa to get materials fabrics.
